AWAKENING OLOKUN
We need to awaken Olokun when we need to: understand a difficult concept, think on great principles, understand the origin of man, understand the reasons of ethics and politics, understand economics, know the hidden rules of the world, climb the social scale, raise the level of consciousness, build a better future for all, make good but unpopular decisions, administer the world with justice, understand man's role in the cosmos
LET'S START
ALTAR WITH OLOKUN
After preparing the altar, add one or more of these objects:
A MASK
A MARINE OBJECT
A TRIDENT
A PYRAMID
THE REPRESENTATION OF AN EYE
PREPARATION OF THE REQUEST
Place the icon of Olokun in the center of your altar. Start talking ALOUD explaining why you need the help of this force, this genius or archetype called Olokun. At the end of your speech, place the consecrated coins in your offering container and close the ritual.
CLOSING OF THE RITUAL
Unleash your imagination. There are no indications in this regard. Whoever invokes Olokun must be able to manage everything alone, because his kingdom is as mysterious as the depths of the sea. In the context of Yoruba religious practice, Olokun is not received (or as they say "does not enter the head") of any initiate, except through particular ceremonies not suitable for everyone. This is why there is no advice on how to embody the Olokun archetype. Let's say that to activate the Olokun archetype, an initiatory rite conducted by other Olokuns would be necessary. One does not become Olokun by himself. However, some of its characteristics can be awaken in us.
MANTRA OF "THANK YOU"
After completing the ritual you can (I recommend it) recite a mantra for 21 minutes whose only word to pronounce is: THANK YOU.
Gratitude has great transformative power, seeing is believing.
